$30 per critique for NSPA members/$45 non-members
Critiques are one of the most helpful — and most popular — features of the convention. Staff members and advisers sit down with an experienced adviser or professional journalist and review their student media.
Critique sessions are 25 minutes and provide a one-on-one opportunity for students and advisers to ask questions. Each critique session is $30 per NSPA-member staff and $45 per non-member staff. Sessions are available for the following student media:
- Broadcast
- Literary Arts Magazine
- Newspaper/Newsmagazine
- Website
- Yearbook
Critique sessions are offered at the following times during the convention:

When registering for the convention, advisers may purchase and select from the available critique sessions. Only advisers may register and purchase critique sessions.
An adviser may purchase only one critique for each media type. The entire staff may attend the critique session. There are nine seats at the table.
Special requests for times can not be accommodated.
The deadline for purchasing and reserving On-site Media Critiques is April 4. Critique times are limited and often fill-up before the deadline. The final schedule will be posted on the convention website on April 21.
Volunteer to be a critique leader
Student media advisers and media professionals are encouraged to serve as critique leaders using this sign-up sheet. There are sessions and other offerings happening simultaneously, so please check your convention schedule when signing up.
